Requirements to Attend Erosion Control
Coordinator Certification Training According to
ADOT specifications 104.09 SWDEQ and 104.09
SWEPA any individual listed as the erosion
control coordinator for a construction project
must have the following qualifications. ?
Successfully completed the two day (16 hours)
Erosion Control Coordinator training class
provided by the Arizona Chapter AGC and ADOT ?
Documented experience equal to a minimum of one
year from either of the following two
categories Experience in the development and
implementation of Storm Water Pollution
Prevention Plans (SWPPP) as specified in the
AZPDES general permit or NPDES for highway
construction projects. The proposed erosion
control coordinators experience shall
demonstrate full time responsibility for directly
supervising construction personnel in the
installation, monitoring and maintenance of
erosion control items. Experience in
re-vegetation or restoration of disturbed areas
in environments similar to those on the project.
Experience in temporary or permanent
stabilization of disturbed areas will also be
considered. The proposed erosion control
coordinators experience shall demonstrate
full-time responsibility for directly supervising
personnel in temporary or permanent re-vegetation
or restoration of disturbed areas. Additional
Requirements for Sensitive Projects Projects
deemed sensitive by ADOT Roadside Development
section, add the following The erosion control
coordinator shall also meet one of the following
requirements Registration in the state of
Arizona as a Landscape Architect, with a minimum
of one year experience in the fields of erosion
and sediment control . Registration in the state
of Arizona as a Professional Engineer with a
minimum of one year of experience in the fields
of erosion and sediment control. Certification by
the International Erosion Control Association
(ICEA) as a Certified Professional in Erosion and
Sediment Control.
