TRI-SERVICE CORROSION CONFERENCE 2003
- Attendance at the Tri-Service Corrosion
Conference is open to all U.S. Government
Employees, DOD Contractors and Grantees, others
with the approval of service representative or
conference chair. - All attendees are strongly encouraged to register
in advance to avoid delays in registering at the
meeting. Please note, pre-registration fee is
lower than on-site fee. Final date for
pre-registration is 1 October 2003. The details
of the registration fee are as follows - Pre-registration (before 1 October 2003) US
400.00 - Late registration (after 1 October 2003) US
450.00 - Student participation is encouraged. Student
discounts are available upon request. Please

registration must be submitted on or before 1

A limited number of spaces will be available for
exhibitors as table-tops. Only approved
government contractors will be authorized to
display their products. Interested companies must
contact the organizers for approval. Please
contact Conference Coordinator for approval and
space. Exhibitor Fee of 600 per space includes
one registration fee. Attendance of more than one
person at the table would be treated as an
additional conference participant and the rules
of registration fee will apply.

Accommodations
The Tri-Service Corrosion Conference 2003 will be
held at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel Casino in
Las Vegas, Nevada. All out-of-town attendees of
the conference are required to stay at the
Flamingo Las Vegas. A block of rooms has been
reserved at the special Conference Rate of US
79.00 per night. Attendees are responsible to
make their own reservations before the deadline
of 17 October 2003. Please be sure to mention
that you are attending the Tri-Service Corrosion
Conference when making your reservation. Check-in

- Abstract Submittal - The deadline for submitting
an abstract is 16 May 2003. - Notification of Acceptance - All accepted
presenters will be notified by 31 July 2003. - Pre-Registration - The deadline for
pre-registration (reduced rate of 400) is 1

required to submit a full paper. The deadline for

Poster Sessions
The Tri-Service Corrosion Conferences have been
hosted biennially by one of the services since
1967. The purpose of the Conference is to promote
technical interaction among the military services
through a forum wherein the Federal Governments
corrosion technologists and interested defense
contractors have an open exchange of the latest
corrosion issues relevant to military systems.
These conferences provide increased visibility of
DOD corrosion control and prevention efforts and
promote novel and innovative solutions to DOD
corrosion problems.
- The 2003 Tri-Service Conference provides a forum
for the presentation of technical information and
ideas derived from current or recently completed
RD projects, maintenance actions, lessons
learned and deployment of new technologies. Full
papers are invited on those topics and on
platform issues. There will also be opportunities
for table-top presentations or exhibits. The oral
sessions will include invited and contributed
papers. Poster papers are encouraged from student
participants. - The suggested topic areas are

should submit a poster title and an abstract
(maximum 300 words) in English, before 16 October

Oral Presentations Each speaker is allotted 30
minutes maximum for paper presentation and
discussion time (approximately 20 minutes with 8
minutes for discussion). A speaker timer will
be used to maintain a schedule. Visual
Aids PowerPoint presentations and prepared
overhead transparencies are the only visual aids
permitted. A Speaker-ready room will be available
to review slides and overheads for use in
presentations. Conference Papers All authors are
required to submit electronic copies of their
paper, no more than 15 pages in length, for the
publication of conference proceedings. All papers
will be written according to the NACE
International format. The absolute deadline for
submitting your full paper is 1 October 2003. The
conference proceedings will be published on
CD-ROM and distributed at the conference. Disclaim

conference proceedings are the sole
responsibility of the author and must be cleared
for public release. The organizers of Tri-Service
Corrosion Conference accept no responsibility for

Objective
The exchange of information at this conference
encourages cooperative efforts aiding in the
development of integrated corrosion pre-vention
and control technologies. Furthermore, it
provides DOD the benefit of feedback,
assessments, and recommendations from recognized
experts in the corrosion field. The overall goal
of these interactions between DOD, private
industry, academia, and other Government agencies
is to reduce the cost of corrosion and seek out
the most advanced technologies in corrosion
control and prevention. The theme of this
conference is to preserve our defense assets
through readiness and affordable transformation.
