Title: Unless the LORD builds the house,

1
Unless the LORD builds the house, those who
build it labor in vain. Behold, children are a
heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb
a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one's youth. Blessed is
the man who fills his quiver with them! He
shall not be put to shame when he speaks with
his enemies in the gate. (Psalms 1271-5)
2
I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that
dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your
mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you
as well. (2 Timothy 15)
3
Paul came also to Derbe and to Lystra. A
disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a
Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father
was a Greek. He was well spoken of by the
brothers at Lystra and Iconium. Paul wanted
Timothy to accompany him, and he took him and
circumcised him because of the Jews who were in
those places, for they all knew that his father
was a Greek. (Acts 161-3)
4
To the rest I say (I, not the Lord) that if any
brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she
consents to live with him, he should not divorce
her. If any woman has a husband who is an
unbeliever, and he consents to live with her, she
should not divorce him. For the unbelieving
husband is made holy because of his wife, and the
unbelieving wife is made holy because of her
husband. Otherwise your children would be
unclean, but as it is, they are holy. (1
Corinthians 712-14)

Amon and Jedidah -- Josiahs Parents
Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to
reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. His
mother's name was Meshullemeth the daughter of
Haruz of Jotbah. And he did what was evil in the
sight of the LORD, as Manasseh his father had
done. He walked in all the way in which his
father walked and served the idols that his
father served and worshiped them. He abandoned
the LORD, the God of his fathers, and did not
walk in the way of the LORD. (2 Kings 2119-22)

Amon and Jedidah -- Josiahs Parents
Josiah was eight years old when he began to
reign, and he reigned thirty-one years in
Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jedidah the
daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath. And he did what
was right in the eyes of the LORD and walked in
all the way of David his father, and he did not
turn aside to the right or to the left. (2 Kings
221-2)

reign, and he reigned thirty-one years in
Jerusalem. And he did what was right in the eyes
of the LORD, and walked in the ways of David his
father and he did not turn aside to the right
hand or to the left. For in the eighth year of
his reign, while he was yet a boy, he began to
seek the God of David his father, and in the
twelfth year he began to purge Judah and
Jerusalem of the high places, the Asherim, and
the carved and the metal images. (2 Chronicles
341-3)

But as for you, continue in what you have learned
and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you
learned it and how from childhood you have been
acquainted with the sacred writings, which are
able to make you wise for salvation through faith
in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 314-15)

Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him, and he took
him and circumcised him because of the Jews who
were in those places, for they all knew that his
father was a Greek. (Acts 163) Likewise,
wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that
even if some do not obey the word, they may be
won without a word by the conduct of their
wives-- when they see your respectful and pure
conduct. (1 Peter 31-2)
11
But we were gentle among you, like a nursing
mother taking care of her own children. (1
Thessalonians 27)
The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child
left to himself brings shame to his mother.
(Proverbs 2915)
12
Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and
forsake not your mother's teaching, for they
are a graceful garland for your head and
pendants for your neck. (Proverbs 18-9)
13
Older women likewise are to be reverent in
behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine.
They are to teach what is good, and so train the
young women

Older women likewise are to be reverent in
behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine.
They are to teach what is good, and so train the
young women to love their husbands and children,
to be self-controlled, pure, working at home,
kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that
the word of God may not be reviled. (Titus
23-5)

So I would have younger widows marry, bear
children, manage their households, and give the
adversary no occasion for slander. (1 Timothy

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the
Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife
even as Christ is the head of the church, his
body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the
church submits to Christ, so also wives should
submit in everything to their husbands.
(Ephesians 522-24)

He must manage his own household well, with all
dignity keeping his children submissive, for if
someone does not know how to manage his own
household, how will he care for God's church?
Let deacons each be the husband of one wife,
managing their children and their own households
well. (1 Timothy 34-5,12)
