Geometry Superbowl

Objectives
Players who have the most points at the end of
the class will win the Superbowl. Players gain
points by correctly executing the plays. Players
will lose points when flags are thrown for
penalties.
7
Rules
  • Players will be given plays to execute. They
will need to draw the plays on the given fields
and come up to a conclusion.
  • A correct conclusion will only be considered if
all of the following is included
  • Players name on each sheet of paper
  • A color coded legend showing who is what color
  • Play number
  • Conclusion in complete sentence
  • At anytime the referee can throw a penalty flag
    for misconduct.

8
Penalties
  • Delay of Game (Cannot complete play in allotted
    time) Penalty determined by referee
  • Excessive Celebration (Too Noisy) Penalty
    determined by referee
  • Unsportsmanlike Conduct Penalty determined by
    referee
  • Too Many Men on the Field (Cheating) NO points
    awarded for answer

9
Procedure
  • Players will be divided into groups of two and
placed on an NFL team. The team will assign the
players positions that they will need to keep
    throughout the entire game.
  • Once the players decided who will be Quarterback
and who will be Wide Receiver they will each need
to choose one of the team colors. They will use
that color to execute the plays for the entire
    game.
  • On the first sheet of the packet create a legend
that shows who is in what position and what color
they are. If this is not clearly marked then
there will be no credit given for this game.
  • Each team will be given a play situation. Each
player will have their instructions for the play
and need to execute their part. Once each player
has completed their part of the play the team
will come to a conclusion about the play and
write this in a complete sentence on the play
    sheet.
