friendly letter.

July 17, 2000 Dear Red, I just got back
from a trip to Florida. It was a lot of fun and
I had a great time. Besides going to the beach
every day, I played putt-putt golf, went
shopping, and spent two days in Disney World.
Wow, it was great! The time there seemed to fly
by. Ill show you pictures of my trip as soon as
they are developed. You told me you were going
to California. Have you taken your trip yet?
When can you come visit me? We always have so
much fun together. Your friend, Billy Bob
This letter was written to me.
5Now, let's look at each of the five parts of
that friendly letter.

The Heading
Tells me where Billy Bob lives and also tells
me the date he wrote the letter. It goes in

The Closing
Is like saying good-bye. It always starts with a
capital letter. If there are two words, only
the first word begins with a capital. See, Your
is capitalized... friend is not. Then there is
always a COMMA.
Closing
See that little comma?
Your friend,
