• Grace, free gift of God to sinners
• Righteousness- because of the cross
• Justified by faith not, works, ritual or law
• Jesus died for our sins and was raised to life
  for our justification
• Results of justification by faith is assurance of
  salvation

Rejoice This Is the Key to Assurance

• 1-2
• Present Peace with God through Jesus
• Dying man
• Past Gained access to God by faith
• Future Rejoice in the hope of the glory of God
• We have assurance because of God

Rejoice Suffering Does Not Nullify Assurance

• 3-4
• Suffering afflictions, hardships, hunger, war,
  disease, death
• Perseverance patience, endurance, steadfastness.
  This given by God! 838
• Character (dokime) testing, trying, proving
  something. This is pleasing to God!
• Hope we are aware of how God is with us. We then
  have more confidence in God!
• Nothing can separate us from Gods grace

Rejoice Hope Does Not Disappoint Us

• The Holy Spirit pours the love of God into our
  hearts
• Knowledge of Gods love . He wants us to
  understand (Jn 316 1513 Rom 58 1 Jn 48-10)
• As the agent by which blessings of redemption are
  applied in the initial moment of salvation.
  These are concrete gifts (8)
• By strengthening our inner conviction of the
  certainty of Gods love for us personally.

Conclusion

• Rejoice!
• Our hope is not purely based on the subjective
  experience of Gods love
• It presupposes and supplements several prior
  objective realities
• The atoning death of Christ
• The Spirits inspiration of Scripture
• Our hearing and obeying the Gospel
• Our reception of the Holy Spirit in baptism
