1. Moses Prepared for His Departure.

• He led Israel back
• He counted the people
• He appointed his successor
• He reinforced Gods regulations
• He instructed for possessing the Land
• He pronounced blessings upon the People

Moses was Gods faithful servant

• Psalms 1016 My eyes will be on the faithful in
  the land, that they may dwell with me he whose
  walk is blameless will minister to me.
• Psalms 3728 For the LORD loves the just and will
  not forsake his faithful ones. They will be
  protected forever, but the offspring of the
  wicked will be cut off
• 1 Corinthians 111 Follow my example, as I follow
  the example of Christ.

• Numbers 218-9 8 The LORD said to Moses, "Make a
  snake and put it up on a pole anyone who is
  bitten can look at it and live." 9 So Moses made
  a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when
  anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the
  bronze snake, he lived.

2. Moses Persevered to the Finish line. (Deut 34)

• Pursued Mt climbing
• Going strong at age 120
• Impacted lives of many people
• Mentored Joshua and a new generation

What was Moses secret in finishing well?

• Hebrews 1127 By faith he (Moses) left Egypt, not
  fearing the king's anger he persevered because
  he saw him who is invisible.

Paul did the same thing

• Philippians 313-14 Brothers, I do not consider
  myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one
  thing I do Forgetting what is behind and
  straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on
  toward the goal to win the prize for which God
  has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
• 2 Timothy 47 I have fought the good fight, I
  have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

3. Moses Promoted into Gods Presence.

• Deuteronomy 345 And Moses the servant of the
  LORD died there in Moab, as the LORD had said.
• Psalms 11615 Precious in the sight of the LORD
  is the death of his saints.

1400 years later

• Jesus was transfigured and Moses appeared with
  Him.
• Luke 928-31 About eight days after Jesus said
  this, he took Peter, John and James with him and
  went up onto a mountain to pray. 29 As he was
  praying, the appearance of his face changed, and
  his clothes became as bright as a flash of
  lightning. 30 Two men, Moses and Elijah, 31
  appeared in glorious splendor, talking with
  Jesus. They spoke about his departure, which he
  was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem.

Some 2000 years after that

• Moses and Elijah will appear on earth just before
  Christ returns (following the rapture).
• Revelation 113 And I will give power to my two
  witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days,
  clothed in sackcloth."

Moses is truly Gods Hero

• Deuteronomy 3410-12 Since then, no prophet has
  risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew
  face to face, 11 who did all those miraculous
  signs and wonders the LORD sent him to do in
  Egypt--to Pharaoh and to all his officials and to
  his whole land. 12 For no one has ever shown the
  mighty power or performed the awesome deeds that
  Moses did in the sight of all Israel.

Moses finished strong, leaving a lasting legacy

• We never retire in service to our Lord
• We never stop impacting our generation
• There is a conscience existence after death
