- Write in your planner every day.

10Morning Procedures
- Students arrive between 735 a.m. 830 a.m.
- Breakfast is served between 800 a.m. 830 a.m.
- 6th graders Go to the gym.
- 7th graders Go to the gym.
- 8th graders Go to the auditorium.
- The bell rings to go to class at 835 a.m.
- Classes begin at 840 a.m.
11Afternoon Procedures
- Students are dismissed by attendance over
the intercom. - Students walk out with their teachers by class.
- Students go 2 different directions Walkers go
out the front door bus riders go to the
auditorium and sit in their assigned bus area. - Students who need to go to detention or tutorials
will report to the auditorium and sit in their
designated areas. - Buses leave at 405.
- Teachers pick up students for tutorials and
detention at 405. - At 500 a bus will be available for tutoring and
detention students.
12Buses
- DeLay runs three buses after schoolplus one late
bus at 500. - All students who live at least two miles from
school are eligible for bus transportation. - Bus route information can be found on the LISD
website. It is also posted at the front entrance
and in the auditorium.
13Bicycles
- Walk your bike while on campus.
- Always lock up your bike.
14Lunches
- Breakfast 1.00
- Lunch 2.20
- Free and Reduced forms are available in the
cafeteria and front office.
Applications are due back by SEPTEMBER

- The LISD website has all additional
information.
15Cafeteria Procedures
- Walk in with your teacher.
- Stand in line.
- Exit the line, and fill in the tables starting in
the middle (inside). - Raise your hand for permission to get up.
- Sign in and out for the restroom.
- Wait for the trash can to come to you.
- Be quiet for speakers and announcements.
- On Fridays there can be earned outside time.
16UNIFORMS AT DELAY
- All DeLay Middle School students must wear the
following uniform - Khaki colored pants,
- shorts, skirt, or Capri
- pants
- White or maroon polo or
- button-down shirt without
- symbols
- Remember PTA
- DeLay hoodies only
Students will wear the approved uniform clothing
from the first day of school onward!
17Dress Code Highlights
- Shirts with many buttons must be buttoned up.
- Shirts will be tucked in with a belt showing.
- Pants may not sag. They must be worn at the
natural waistline. Pants may not be rolled up
at the bottom. - Hair must be a natural color and shape, and no
designs may be shaved in the hair. Hair must
also stay out of the eyes. - Only one earring per ear. No other visible
piercing. - No notched eyebrows.
- No grills.
18Dress Code Highlights
- Students may only wear white undershirts without
writing or designs. - Students may not wear red or blue shoestrings,
belts, ribbons, etc. - No wearing of hats, hoods, or coats inside the
building. - If students wear a rosary for religious reasons,
it needs to be inside of clothing. - Students may not write on their hands.
19Spirit Days
- Spirit Days are a privilege.
- Jeans must be appropriate not rolled up, no
holes, no sagging, and not too tight.

20Cell Phones/Pagers
- Cell phones and pagers may be used outside of the
building before 800 and after 355. They are
not allowed to be seen or heard anywhere on
campus during school hours. This includes phone
calls, pictures, text messages, playing games,
listening to music, etc. - LISD charges 15.00 when phones or pagers are
confiscated. This fee must be paid before the
item is returned.
21Student Valuables
- Students need to leave valuables such as IPODs,
video games, cell phones, etc. at home. - The school cannot be responsible for insuring
that these items do not get broken or stolen. - Keep your things safe at home!
22Take care of DeLay
- No graffiti.
- Pick up trash.
- Chew gum responsibly.
- No smelly stuff!
- Do not sit on the rock.
- We want DeLay to look nice!
23Attendance
- 1. A note is required by the office for
all absences from school. - 2. Please also call the school when your
child is absent. - 3. Attendance at school is required by
Texas state law. - 4. A student may not exceed 3 absences
per 6 weeks. - 5. If there is a family emergency,
please call the principal, Mrs.
Flores, ahead of time to get
permission for the extended absence.
