  managing their children and their own households

So Who Can be Appointed as a Servant?

• Of dignity
• Not double tongued
• Not addicted to much wine
• Not fond of sordid gain
• Holding to the faith with a clear conscience

What Deacons are Not

or office It is not a voting board that runs
the church

What Deacons are Not

• Acts 63, 5
• Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you
  seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and
  of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty
• and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and
  of the Holy Spirit, and Philip,

It is not men who ONLY care for physical things

Leadership at any level in the Church is Needed
because

• We need dependable servants to call on
• We need men full of the Spirit and wisdom
• We need men whose wives can support them in their
  work
• We need men who demonstrate family leadership

These men earn the respect and confidence of
their brethren. And they should! And we need more
of them.
