- STANDARD NS2 Count, understand, compute, and
solve problems with whole numbers - 2.1 Add and subtract up to 5 digit numbers.
- 2.2 Use multiplication facts to solve problems
and compute related problems (e.g., 3 x 5 is
related to 30 x 50, 300 x 5, and 30 x 500). - 2.3 Multiply up to 3 digits by 2 digits.
- 2.4 Divide up to a 3 digit whole number by a
single digit divisor (with or without remainders)
accurately and efficiently, interpreting any
remainders. - 2.5 Solve multi-step word problems using four
basic operations. - 2.6 Use non-routine problem solving strategies
(guess and check, diagrams, patterns, too little
/ too much information). - 2.7 Round whole numbers through hundred thousands
to the nearest ten thousand and hundred thousand. - 2.8 Select and use a variety of strategies to
estimate quantities and to judge the
reasonableness of an answer. - 2.9 Understand and use the conventional
algorithms for addition and subtraction (up to 5

- Progress in the areas of reading and writing will
be marked along a continuum - Continuum - Similar to learning to walk roll
over, combat crawl, crawl, walk supported, walk a
few steps supported, walk independently, run, run
well, hop, skip, dance, dance well, etc.

- Most students will move through 2 levels
- If the child is at a level that is not printed,
