TEST FORMAT
  • 50 questions total16 T/F, 20 Matching, 12 MC, 2

  • Will include questions from throughout the
    semesterliterary elements, main class concepts,
    TKM, tolerance vocabulary
  • Test will include some questions from the short
    story unit test and items from TKM as well.

WHAT TO KNOW
  • Know the literary elements from the blue sheet
    you received in class and how they connect with
    each story.
  • Know the information weve covered in Growing Up
    (four basic needs, components of growing up, how
    they connect to stories/essays)
  • Know the tolerance vocabulary words and
    definitions
  • Know the major things taught (inference,
    tolerance, tone, style, etc) and the major
    concepts from class discussions
  • Know the TKM vocabulary words (assuaged, sojourn,
    morbid, melancholy, accosted, contemptuously,
    wryly, stifle, subtle, and reprimand)
  • Know the basic plot of TKM and things about the
    characters in the story.

What should I study?
  • Take a look back through each handout youve
    received this semester and look through your
    highlights/notes.
  • Look back through your notes for stories and TKM
    handouts/class notes to make sure you understand
    the major concepts that we tried taking from the
    units this semester.
  • Your notes/handouts are the guide. Its your
    reward for paying attention in class and keeping
    caught up. Dont forget your short story handouts
    and the TKM stuff you received this semester.

How should I study?
  • Youre doing part of it right now by looking
    through this ?
  • Go back through stories and re-read story and
    notes.
  • Get together with someone from class and quiz
    each other over literary terms/stories.
  • Begin studying now so that you know information
    and dont have to guess. THE NIGHT BEFORE/MORNING
    OF THE TEST ISNT THE BEST METHOD!!!
  • See Mr. Wilkinson during 4th/7th hour or
    before/after school for help with missing
    notes/understanding notes as needed prior to
    Wednesdays test.
