  • 2. Our congregation views the following as
    significant needs in the community that the faith
    community should and can be addressing
  • a. Direct Service Needs (Generally refers to
    food, shelter, tutoring, transportation etc)
  • b. Social Justice Needs (Generally refers to
    correcting the causes of the above and deals with
    public policies e.g. health care, tax policies,
    education policies, etc.)
  • c. Race Relations Needs
  • d. Inter-religious affairs Needs
  • 3. Our congregation has identified a need for
    better information about the priority needs of
    the community particularly in the following
    areas.
  • 4. To build our capacity for servicing the
    community we would like ideas for communicating
    service and learning opportunities among the
    members of our congregations e.g. how to use all
    of the mediums available, how are other
    congregations meeting this need.

between faith and justice. First UMC - Presented
their adopt a school ministry Latham UMC/NE UMC
District - Will present today an activity to
prepare recommendations for the 2010 state
legislature.
