COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATION
  • Result of Internal Assessment and Determination
    of Extent of Compliance with Commission
    Requirements and Regulations. Submitted in
    September 2008.

QUALITY ENHANCEMENT PLAN
  • A plan that deals with an issue or issues that
    are important to the University and its entire
    community and demonstrates promise of making a
    significant impact on the quality of student
    learning. Submitted with Focused Report.

OFF-SITE REVIEW
  • A committee of peers reviews the Compliance
    Certification and Supporting Documentation. The
    Committee prepares a report of its findings for
    an institution November 2008.

FOCUSED REPORT
  • An institution may choose to submit a Focused
    Report in response to the On-Site Committees
    Findings 6 to 4 weeks before on-site visit

ON-SITE REVIEW VISIT
  • March 31 to April 2nd, 2009
  • Committee of professional peers visit the campus
    to assess educational programs and the QEP and
    other areas they have questions about. At the
    end of visit, Committee submits report to SACS.

DETERMINATION OF REAFFIRMATION
  • The report of the On-site Visit Committee and the
    Response of the Institution to their Findings are
    Reviewed by the Commissions Committee on
    Compliance and Reports which recommends to the
    Executive Council.

FINAL DECISION
  • The Executive Committee Recommends Final
    Determination to the Commission of Colleges for a
    Final Decision December 2009.

  • Through an emphasis on collaboration among
    faculty, academic and student support services,
    the QEP personalizes the college experience for
    the first-year students in need of extensive
    developmental coursework, personal growth and
    development, and acclimation to the academic
    environment. It promotes holistic student
    development into the second year as well.

  • A student with proper attitude understands the
    importance of punctuality, class attendance and
    timely completion of assignments devotes a
    reasonable amount of time and effort to studying
    and reads assignments and discusses ideas
    seriously with others, while exhibiting decorum
    and respect for opposing points of view. A
    student with attitude belongs to a community of
    learners who collectively seek to develop
    academic confidence through continuous
    improvement in their ability to read, write, and
    perform mathematical tasks.
