15Textiles and Apparel in a Global Economy
I comprehended the importance of the apparel and
textile industry as it is effected by the global
economy. Along with production, distribution, and
trade regulations.
Inspired by the country and culture of India,
Kapada Kapada was created as a high end luxury
brand for women around the world. Adobe
Illustrator was used to create the collection. A
company advertisement and store layout were
compiled in Photoshop.

35Marketing Communications
During the duration of this class advertising,
personal selling, and sales promotion techniques
were learned in order to attract a specified
target market.
Given the advertisement below, for The Breast
Cancer Research Foundation, I had to determine
the target market, the reason/purpose for the ad,
the type of consumer appeal,
36 Target market Women Purpose of the
Advertisement To get the audience attention by
using the well recognized pink breast cancer
ribbon to provide facts about the importance of
this medical issue. Type of consumer appeal
Informational appeal mixed with emotional appeal.
37Watching the Super bowl, I analyzed my favorite
advertisements to find the commercial structure
and type of messaging used. Displayed here is the
Pepsi Refresh Anthem commercial.
38This Pepsi commercial was advertising Pepsi and
Diet Pepsi. They compared many different
celebrities, sports figures and trends throughout
the generations while playing the well known song
Forever Young. The commercial structure was
order of presentation although they showed the
Pepsi logo throughout the ad they mainly focused
on the recency effect by showing the main message
at the end. They used comparative advertising
by comparing the changes of each generation in
history.
