1CaesarStone and LEED
2What is LEED ?
- LEED is the nationally accredited benchmark
- developed by USGBC (United States Green
- Building Council) and is voluntary.
LEED - Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design. LEED promotes a whole building approach
to sustainability in five (5) key areas
Sustainable Site Development Water Savings Energy
Efficiency Materials Selection Indoor
Environmental Quality
To qualify a project must meet certain
prerequisites and performance benchmarks
(credits) within each category.
3What is LEED ?
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
(LEED) Green Building Rating System encourages
and accelerates global adoption of sustainable
green building and development practices through
the creation and implementation of universally
understood and accepted tools and performance
criteria.
4What is LEED ?
Projects can be certified Silver, Gold or
Platinum depending on credits achieved.
LEED currently has certification programs for the
following
- LEED for New Construction-Version 2.2
- LEED for Existing Buildings Version 2.0
- LEED for Commercial Interiors Version 2.0
- LEED for Core Shell
- LEED for Schools, Healthcare Retail
- LEED for Homes
- LEED for Existing Buildings/Operations
Maintenance - USCBC does not certify, promote or endorse
products or services of individual companies
