Air Quality Test

• We used the acids carbonate and phosphate to find
  ammonia in the air.
• We collected ammonia and other chemicals through
  a tube called an annular denuder.
• Our group used an ion chromatography machine to
  test for the amount of ammonia in the air.

The Ozone Layers

• What is ozone?
• Stratospheric Ozone is the most important ozone
  layer that protects the Earth from radiation.
• The Ozone Hole.
• Most of the ozone in the air is in the
  tropospheric ozone layer.

2000 Power Plant Summary of Nox Levels

• TECO Big Bend Station is Floridas largest
  coal-power plant. Big Bend ranks highly among
  many power plants in the U.S.
• Big Bend releases more Nox than other plants.
  But, the power plant is using scrubbers to reduce
  the amount of Nox released in the air.
• Other major power plants are in the states of
  Arizona, California, Kentucky, New Mexico, New
  York, Tennessee, and Texas.
