- Evacuate floor occupants to the designated
assembly areas - Hang Evacuated signs on the outside of empty
rooms - Inform/support the Building Coordinator
- Keep people from entering the building until the
all clear is given

- Compile floor reports from Floor Wardens
- Report building status and emergencies to the
Zone Captains - Pass information back to Floor Wardens
- Assist with keeping people out of the building

- Acts as the eyes and ears of the EOC (Emergency
Operations Center) in the field - Checks on the status of every building in their
zone - Reports incidents and emergencies to the EOC
- Establishes Zone Command Post at on-scene
incident or pre-designated location - Relay information to Building Coordinators

- Will be located in the Humanities Hall assembly

- Will advise people on site regarding emergency
response operations
38Emergency Operations Center
- The primary role of an EOC is to bring together
all relevant information about the emergency into
one place, organize that information into a
useful format and facilitate the coordination of
resources needed to respond to the emergency.
The EOC shall be located away from the areas of
highest activity so as to avoid interference with
their operations, yet shall be close enough to
provide reasonable access to current information.
The EOC shall have multiple forms of
communication available to it, be capable of 24
hour operations and shall be secured from
unauthorized access. - Â
- Activation of the EOC may occur under any of the
following circumstances - Â
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Size of the incident requires logistical
support beyond that available on- scene - Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The emergency is of long duration
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Magnitude of the event requires external
resources or implementation of unified command - Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Specifically called for in the pertinent
Incident Pre-Plan. - Â
- Once the EOC has been activated, the EOC Manager
has full authority to make decisions and
implement tactics necessary for the prompt and
efficient response to the event.
