Who appoints the nominating committee?

• The district chairman submits a candidate for the
  nominating committee chair and three members of
  the committee to the council vice-president for
  field operations, Kevin Cole. Kevin may appoint
  additional members and may also reject any of the
  proposed members. After this approval, the
  district chairman may ask the chairman and
  members to serve.

Who are the voting members in a district?

• Elected officers (district chairman)
• District members at large
• Chartered organization representatives
• Council members at large residing in the district

When is the district annual business meeting?

• The December district committee meeting.

How many days prior to that meeting must the
nominating committee be announced and to whom?

• At least 90 days prior to the district annual
  business meeting
• To the voting members of the district

What is the role of the district executive?

• Serves as the secretary and adviser to the
  committee.
• Responsible for meeting announcements and minutes
• Provides a confidential appraisal of current
  leadership to the nominating committee chair
• Is intimately involved in every step

Is the district chairman a member of the
committee?

• No.
• At the first meeting of the committee, the
  selection of the district chairman and district
  commissioner takes place.
• If the incumbent district chair is re-nominated,
  he/she then joins the committee for future
  meetings.

membership chair?

• District members at large are elected and have a

Does the committee actually recruit the
commissioner?

• No and Yes
• No, they technically recommend to the council
  commissioner who they would like to have
  appointed to that position
• Yes, after the person has been approved by the
  council commissioner, they make the ask

Is the district chair position a one or two year
term?

• One year
• Starts upon election at the district annual
  meeting
• Concludes when the next annual meeting election
  is held

Is the district vice-chairman automatically the
candidate for district chair?

• No
• District vice-chairs fill specific roles
• They may be candidates but the selection is made
  by the nominating committee

How does the election actually take place?

• A District Nominating Committee Report is
  mailed at least two weeks prior to the annual
  meeting
