Differences

• Mac OS and Windows are very similar
• Apple sued Microsoft because of that
• Big differences were in DOS days
• Mac has stayed very similar in format
• Windows more into lists Mac folders
• When you insert a disk CD into a Mac it pops up
  on the desktop

• Very simple easy to use
• Desktop contained icons which you clicked to open
  and run programs

• Start set-up command allowed user to set
  applications to launch upon startup

• Could view folders as a list
• Had a shut down command

• Had a disk cache
• First intro of the Hierarchical File System
• Allowed you to put folders in folders

• This allowed a Macintosh to read IBM formatted
  disks and format them. If you have word excel
  Office you could read something written on a IBM
  on your Mac
• Big for Mac users in IBM dominated market

  instead of clicking an arrow
