• A Magnesium Consortium needs to be established by
  producers, importers and recyclers.
• The Magnesium Consortium decides on the Workgroup
  members, they want to handle for them the
  REACH-issue.
• The Workgroup consists now of the members EFM,
  IMA, and the Steering Commitee.

• There is no way to escape from the EC REACH
  regulations.
• All Manufacturers, Importers and downstream users
  of magnesium will be faced with this reality.

• Manufacturers, Importers have just the following
  alternatives
• You register indepentently from a Consortium,
• Or you join a Consortium (MaREC is formed),
• Otherwise you accept to stop your magnesium
  activity in the future.

• June 20, 2007, a first Assembly Meeting took
  place and the Magnesium Consortium MaREC was
  formed.
• 7 Members elected a Steering Committee, a MaREC
  Chairman, Deputy Chairman, and nominated 2
  Service Providers.
