2History of DuPont
- Founded in 1833 as Fort Nisqually by the Hudsons
Bay Company. - In 1906, the DuPont company purchased the land
from local homesteaders and founded the company
town that is still present as Old DuPont. The
plant closed in 1976. - In 1994, the first residents of Northwest
Landing, a master planned community built by
Weyerhaeuser, moved in.

during dental health awareness month - Send home surveys with kids for parents to
respond to (2 years in a row) - Post flyers in local establishments
- 2. Change Policy to Obtain Fluoridated Water
Supply - Gather signatures for a fluoridation petition at
local events - Solicit volunteers for a community-based
committee to work on changing the policy - Meet with city administrators, city counsel, and
mayor to discuss fluoridation policy change
- 3. Meet Immediate Need for Fluoride
- coordinate with four Dupont dentists to see if
willing to donate fluoride to citizens who are
