History of DuPont
  • Founded in 1833 as Fort Nisqually by the Hudsons
    Bay Company.
  • In 1906, the DuPont company purchased the land
    from local homesteaders and founded the company
    town that is still present as Old DuPont. The
    plant closed in 1976.
  • In 1994, the first residents of Northwest
    Landing, a master planned community built by
    Weyerhaeuser, moved in.
