2The Link will take them to the Start Screen where
they will choose their school
3If this is the first time you have entered the
system it will ask you to enter contact
information. You will also be asked to create a
passcode for re-entry into the system.
4If you are reentering the system it will ask you
to enter the passcode for re-entry into the
system.
5Once you have entered the contact information and
passcode. You can begin to enter their programs
of study by clicking the continue button.
6This next screen shows any existing programs and
allows users to enter additional programs. Click
the Click here to Add a Career Tech Program
link to start adding a program
7The Add A Career Tech Program screen allows the
user to enter information about a Program
8Information on Program Entry Page
- Program Name
- Enter the name of the Career-Vocational Program.
- New Mexico Career Cluster
- Choose the New Mexico Career Cluster for this
Program from the drop down list that fits the
program content. - Federal Career Cluster
- Choose the Federal Career Cluster for this
Program from the drop down list that fits the
program content. - Is this a Program of Study
- A Program Of Study must1. Incorporate secondary
education and postsecondary education
elements2. Include academic and career and
technical content in a coordinated, non-
duplicative progression of courses and3. Lead
to an industry-recognized credential or
certificate at the postsecondary level, or an
associate or bachelors degree. - Tech Prep
- Is this course part of an articulated Tech-Prep
program funded by the Carl D. Perkins Act, and
designed to lead to an associate degree or
certification in a specific career field?
9Once you have added a Program The system will
take you to the My Programs Page from here you
can then Click on the Program Name for additional
program details or click Click here to Add a
Career Tech Program to add an additional Program

10Clicking the Program Name takes you to the
Program Details page. Depending on what type of
program you entered it may force you to add a
Post-Secondary Affiliation. The screen below show
the force screen for Post-Secondary.
11Information on Post-Secondary Affiliations
- A Program that is indicated as a Program Of
Study - You must enter a Post-Secondary Affiliation
- A Program that is indicated as a Tech Prep
- You must enter a Post-Secondary Affiliation
- A Program that is indicated as both a Tech Prep
and Program of Study - You must enter a Post-Secondary Affiliation
- You must indicate under what type of program the
Post-Secondary Affiliation is tied. - A Program that is indicated as neither a Tech
Prep and Program of Study - You are not forced to enter Post-Secondary
Affiliations - A Post-Secondary Affiliation can be entered
12Clicking the Program Name takes you to the
Program Details page. Depending on what type of
program you entered it may force you to add a
Post-Secondary Affiliation.

13Once you have entered into the Add
Post-Secondary Affiliation Screen You will see a
dropdown list of Post-Secondary Schools. Please
choose the School Affiliated with this program.

14If you have a program that is both a Program of
Study and a Tech Prep you must choose which
type of the program aspects are Affiliated with
the Post-Secondary School.

Click the button to add your Affiliation
15Once you have added a Post-Secondary Affiliation
the system will return you to the Program Details
page. You should see your newly added
Post-Secondary Affiliation.

16Now we can add courses to this program. Click the
Add a Course to Program to continue to the add
course screen.
Click Add a Course to Program
17The Course Entry screen allows the user to enter
information about a Programs Courses.
18Information on Course Entry Page
- Course Sequence
- The number that this course represents in the CTE
program sequence. For example, the third course
in a 4-course sequence would be identified with
the number "3" - STARS Course Number
- This is the course number used in the STARS
system. - A Link is also there to pull up the STARS course
code spreadsheet - Local Course Number
- This is the course number used at the local
level. - Course Title and Notes
- This is the course title and any notes about the
course. - Number of High School Course Credits Awarded
- This is the number of High School credits a
student earns by completing this course. - Is this a Distance Learning Course
- Is this course offered as Distance Learning (Yes
or No) - College Credit
- Does the student receive college credit by
completing this course? (Yes or No) - Tech Prep
- Is this course part of an articulated Tech-Prep
program funded by the Carl D. Perkins Act, and
designed to lead to an Associates degree or
certification in a specific career field? - Post-Secondary Course Number
- This is the course number used at the
Post-Secondary level.
19Once you have entered all information click the
Submit Your Course button to save this course.
Click Submit Your Course button
20Once you have added an Course the system will
return you to the Program Details page. You
should see your newly added Course.

Click Go Back One Page to return to a previous
page
Click Help PowerPoint to download help file
Click Click here to delete entire Program to
delete all information about this program.
Click Return to My Programs Page to return to a
listing of the schools programs

Click Summary of My Programs to view a
printable summary of program entered
Click Logout to return to the School Selection
screen
