Tech Prep Defined
  • Begins at the 9th grade and continues through two
    or more years of postsecondary education
    leading to an associate degree, diploma, or
    apprenticeship (22 2 system).
  • Provides students with career development
    opportunities and an avenue to earn postsecondary
    credit for specified high school courses.

A Tech Prep Student Is..
  • Postsecondary Education Tech Prep Student
  • A student who has completed the secondary
    education component of a tech prep program and
  • Has enrolled in the postsecondary education
    component of a tech prep program at an
    institution of higher education described in
    clause (i) or (ii) of section 203(a)(1)(B)
  • Secondary Education Tech Prep Student
  • A student who has enrolled in 2 courses in the
    secondary education component of a tech prep
    program
