- Water forms one of the basic building blocks of
the economy, particularly in rural areas - 70 of Water in Gujarat is not potable
- Areas like Kutch get only about 200/300 mm of
rainfall annually - Approximately 14,000 villages out of 18,500
villages suffer from severe water scarcity every
year - The drop in the height of the ground water table
is around 3 to 5 meters every year - The distribution of water for domestic usage is
very unfair
