effort with annual updates. - A collaboration of business, government,
educational institutions, labor, and others. - To shape (and implement) a work plan for creating
and sustaining a vibrant, well-balanced economy
and improving participation in it and access to
benefits from it. - This effort is happening in three phases

- Retain and create jobs in healthcare, logistics,
retail, and other sectors - Grow new businesses in industries like life
sciences green technology arts, design, and
digital mediaretail educational services, and
specialty food . - Increase the participation of all of Oaklands
workforce in the economy by creating state-of-the
art educational and workforce training programs
in collaboration with industry. - Create an enduring, strategic, public-private
collaborative approach to economic development
which enhances civic participation and
demonstrates that Oakland is a unified community
working collaboratively to achieve a shared
vision.
