1Airmux 400
2Airmux-400 in Brief
- Airmux-400 is a point-to-point radio solution for
combined Ethernet and TDM traffic over license
free frequencies
TDM supported in version 2.2
3Target Markets
- The Airmux-400 series is targeting the global
markets of Cellular Backhaul, WiMAX and ISP
Backhaul, Broadband Access and Private and
Government Networks - All these markets require higher bandwidth (TDM
ETH) with longer range, robustness while keeping
the best price performance
4Cellular Backhaul Applications
Temporary Backhaul
Rural Area Deployment
Urban Area Deployment
NLOS Backhauling
Intermediate Backhaul
Access Service
Backhaul to Low ARPU Areas
Backup to Wired Backhaul
TDM supported in version 2.2
5Cellular Backhaul Applications
- Alternative to Leased Lines
- Complementing existing networks in Rural Areas
- Remote communities locations
- Low ARPU communities
- Hard to reach locations and NLOS scenarios
- Overlay to network coverage in Urban Areas
- Enhance coverage and capacity
- Providing service to low-ARPU locations in the
city - Hard to reach locations Problematic trenching
or N-LOS scenarios - NLOS scenarios
- Addressing peak hours requirements and temporary
events - 3G ramp-up (More base stations More capacity per
site Street-level locations) - Intermediate backhaul
- Backup
6Broadband Access
- Expand broadband data and voice to rural and
underserved markets - Eliminate costly rollout investments and speed
time to market - Telco grade Long range High capacity (x 10
more than leased line)
TDM and collocation supported in version 2.2
7Airmux-400 Benefits
- High bandwidth with longer range 50Mbps full
duplex net throughput reaching up to 120km - Combined Native TDM Native Ethernet services
on one platform - Competitive prices higher Ethernet TDM
capacity for lower prices - Applicable to nLOS, over-water deployments and
high capacity over extended range with improved
robustness thanks to the OFDM, MIMO and
antenna polarization features. - Flexible product usage ( stock reduction)
of the single configurable ODU. - Fast and easy deployments via installation
and alignments tools
TDM supported in version 2.2

10Spatial Multiplexing MIMO
- MIMO Multiple Input Multiple Output
- A high rate signal is split into multiple lower
rate streams and each stream is transmitted from
a different transmit antenna in the same
frequency channel.
Lower rate streams
Streams merged into one signal
High rate signal
TX
RX
11Benefits of MIMO-OFDM
- MIMO achieves significant increases in capacity,
range and reliability without additional
bandwidth or transmit power - Increased range and reliability
- The Ethernet data stream is split into two lower
rate chains. - These chains can be transmitted in lower rates,
achieving longer ranges and higher reliability - Increased capacity and improved spectral
efficiency - Each radio (chain) carries the full OFDM channel
capacity - Both radios use the same 20MHz channel
- Thus doubled capacity per the same channel
bandwidth - Improved availability
- The streams arrive at the receivers in different
quality. MIMO chooses the best stream available - Paths in poor quality are thus eliminated and
availability increased
