  • These are important rules that you need to know.

Socially Responsible Behavior
p. 16
  • No public display of affectionmeaning no
    hand-holding, kissing, excessive bodily contact
    or prolonged hugging.
  • Watch your mouth! No profane or vulgar language.
    No disrespect for any teacher or school employee.

TPMS Dress Code
pgs. 16-17
  • No headgear is allowed to be worn indoors.
  • Acceptable headgear does not include beanies,
    doo-rags, sweatshirt hoods, skull caps, knit
    hats/caps, hair nets, and any altered hats.
  • Acceptable hats are those that do not promote or
    portray drugs, alcohol, tobacco, gangs,
    violence, weapons and sex.

  • Boys Major Stuff
  • No muscle t-shirts, no large arm-holed basketball
    type shirts, no white tank-top undershirts.
  • No sagging. Pants must fit securely at the waist
    with or without a belt.
  • Underwear must not show.

  • Girls Major Stuff
  • No low necklines, crop tops, halter-tops, tube
    tops, etc
  • Shirt straps must be at least 2 inches wide
    (About 3 fingers). No spaghetti straps by
    themselves allowed.
  • No bare midriff.
  • No tops that tie or have slits that allows the
    torso to be seen.
  • Undergarments, bra straps, cleavage, or backs may
    not be shown.
  • Girls shorts and skirts are to be mid-thigh
    (fingertip length).
  • Underwear must not show.

  • Footwear must be of traditional construction. No
    wheels.
  • No bedroom slippers.
  • Clothing and accessories (including backpacks,
    jewelry) that intend to promote or portray
    drugs, alcohol and/or tobacco, sex, gangs,
    violence and weapons are not allowed.
  • No bandannas carried or worn.
  • No wallet chains, no metal studs or pointed
    objects, including bracelets.

  • Go to Discipline office, and change into PE
    clothes. Pick up after school.
  • Second time
  • Go to Discipline office, and change into PE
    clothes.
  • Parent pick up.
  • Lunch detention(s)
  • Third time
  • Go to Discipline office, and change into PE
    clothes.
  • Parent contact.
  • Confiscate clothing.
  • Admin. (after-school) detention

Tardies and truancies
p. 2
  • Do not be tardy to class! You have 5 minutes
    passing time between each periodno excuses!
  • 15 minute rule --- no students out of class for
    first and last 15 minutes of class!
  • Five class tardies are considered excessive.
  • Truancies (skipping class) result in a referral,
    parent contact and similar consequences.

Academic honesty
  • Honesty" is often defined as truthfulness and
    trustworthiness. One of the goals of Twin Peaks
    Middle School is to teach these values to
    students.
  • All ethics violations are cumulative.
  • There is no such thing as permission to cheatyou
    are still in the wrong even if your friend gives
    you the okay to look at their paper!

Cell phones, iPods, and other electronics

  • The rule for cell phones and other electronic
    devices is that you may not have them on during
    the school day. (824-304)
  • Before the first bell, and after the dismissal
    bell it is okay to have devices outas long as
    they are being used responsibly.
  • Fancy electronics can draw the wrong kind of
    attentionplease try and leave them at home.
  • If they are stolen, it is hard for us to find
    them, and you are out a phone, etc.
