  and operation.

  Application guidelines applicable to the latest
  CCTV technologies.
• AS 4806.3 - Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
  PAL signal timings and levels for CCTV and the
  limits of variations of such.
• AS 4806.4 - Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
  Remote video monitoring code of practice, for
  video and security control rooms.

Objectives of the CCTV Standards

• Present a set of principals for the management
  and operation of CCTV systems for reference by
  users, manufacturers and tenants of premises with
  CCTV systems installed.
• Provide a framework to assist customers,
  installers and users in establishing their CCTV
  requirements.

AS 4806.1 - Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
Management and operation
Contents The management and operation of CCTV
systems includes chapters on principals and
management of the CCTV system, procedures,
personnel, CCTV control room, effective response,
privacy and disclosure issues, recorded material
management, documentation, licences and CCTV
signage. There are appendices on staff
recruitment and selection and a summary of
current Australian Legislation for all states and
territories.

AS 4806.2 - Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
Application guidelines
Contents Application guidelines includes
general CCTV considerations, system design
criteria, objective test plan, installation,
commissioning and handover, preventative
maintenance, licences and signage. There are
appendices on abbreviations and terminology,
objective testing techniques, objective tests and
measurements using a test chart, objective tests
and measurements using a test pattern generator
and test targets.

PAL signal timings and levels
Contents Includes the video signal timings from
the Australian Broadcasting Authority Technical
Planning Guidelines and video signal level
variables which have been determined from many
tests over many years.

AS 4806.4 - Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
Remote video
Contents The objectives of remote video are to
present requirements for the design,
installation, commissioning, operation and
management of remote CCTV systems for the purpose
of providing Alarm verification to initiate
response from police (or other approved
authorities) to video central monitoring stations
(CMS) reported incidents and remote video
surveillance or remote interactive video
management which may be used to initiate response
from police (or other approved authorities) to
video CMS reported incidents.
