  • provide opportunities for students to learn and
    apply new skills
  • promote career opportunities
  • create an annual in-house programming competition
  • establish an Association for Computing Machinery
    (ACM) chapter

  • responsible for contacting companies in order to
    bring co-op and internships to UOIT
  • promoting our program and the skills we learn
  • must create company profile before contacting
  • must know course material (course description
    from course calendar, course outlines, lectures,
    etc)
  • Coordinate with Guest Series Committee to get
    company recruiters on campus

ACM Membership
  • 1. Form a group of at least ten (10) interested
    students, willing to participate in activities
    and carry out the chapter's mission.
  • 2. Find an ACM professional member to sponsor
    your chapter. This person could be a professor in
    your school.
  • 3. Elect four (4) officers out of your group to
    run chapter business. At least three of the
    petitioning officers must be student members of
    ACM.
  • 4. Begin the chartering process by completing the
    petition, bylaws, and first year activity plan.
