    national levels.

    authoritative decisions are made, enforced, and
    interpreted within the state government.

    Missouri has a constitution and why the state
    makes and enforces laws.

Why Do We Have a Government?
  • Governments were set up to make rules and make
    sure everyone follows them.
  • RULES LAWS
  • Help to prevent conflicts
  • Provide for peoples safety welfare
  • Protects peoples rights

Different Kinds of Government
  • King and Queen
  • Members of a special family that claimed the
    right to run the country and make laws.
  • Dictator
  • Take control of a government by force and claim
    the right to make all laws, giving people few
    rights.
  • Democracy
  • Government run by the people
  • People choose the ruler by election
  • People have more rights and responsibilities
