What are Risk Assessments?
  • A careful examination of what, in your work,
    could cause harm to people.
  • The aim is to make sure no one gets hurt or
    becomes ill.

  • Everybodys
  • Mainly management

Why do we have to do them?
  • So that no one is hurt or becomes ill.
  • Legal requirement. (Man. Reg 3)
  • Contract documentation.
  • Part of safety culture
  • Increases awareness.
  • Reduce claims
  • Increase morale

What risks should be assessed?
  • Ignore the trivial and concentrate on significant
    hazards

What is a HAZARD?
  • Anything with the potential to cause harm.

The likelihood of the harm being realised.

    done.

  • Inconvenience to you others
  • Outweighs the benefit

  • Tell your employees about your findings .
