Eliminating the sunset clause on the Flagstaff
Sales Tax would improve the Citys financial
rating, which could improve interest rates on
bonds issues by the City.
City Sales Tax revenue funds the majority of
basic city services. If Sales Tax revenue was
eliminated due to voters not reauthorizing the
tax after its sunset date, services would have to
be cut substantially.

Close to 50 percent of the City Sales Tax is
paid by visitors and people who live outside the
Flagstaff city limits, so the burden of paying
for city services is reduced for Flagstaff
residents.
Flagstaff is one of only a few cities in the
state with a sunset date on its Sales Tax.
