all Wisconsin students
in grades 4, 8,

During the 2002-2003 school year,
the WKCE will be given between November 4th and
22nd.
Your teachers or counselor will tell you on which
days you will take sections of the WKCE.
Thats a lot of days!

Because testing will be
spread out over several days,
it is important that you
are in school every day the test is
being given.
If you are sick,
you will have an opportunity
to make up the section you
missed.

The complete WKCE will take approximately 5 hours.

The Self-Directed Search (SDS) is
a career interest survey that may be
an additional section of the WKCE. It is
not a test!

You will receive
2 types of scores
on each of the areas
of the WKCE.

  • Norm-referenced scores
    tell how well you are doing
    in comparison to other 10th graders across
    the nation.
  • Proficiency scores
    tell how well you are achieving the
    goals that have been set by the State of
    Wisconsin for all 10th graders.

  • They indicate the degree
    to which you have learned the knowledge and
    skills included in the 10th
    grade goals.
