• Im living at Finger Lakes Manor in Canandaigua.
  In a one bedroom apt.
• Security deposit is 555

I chose Canandaigua because it is close to home.

• 2000 Pontiac Sun fire SE
• Cost - 8,995
• Down payment of 1,000
• Loan of 7,995 over 48 months at 3.25 APR
  194/m
• Gas- 75 per month.
• Insurance - 80.00
• Maintenance is 60.00 because I have decided that
  it is an older car and would like to be prepared.

College Loans

• For college I went to MCC for 2 years. I got an
  AS in Communications and Media Arts. This is
  because I would be dealing with the public in a
  business that caters to their wants and needs.
• Ill be paying 100 towards a student loan for
  my 2 year degree.

Savings/Investments

• a percentage of my net pay is immediately taken
  out and put into a savings account through a
  direct deposit.
• I am saving for a newer car . As well as a home
  some day. Or possibly a wedding some day.

Only the essentials ?

• I will allow 200 a month for food. Im only one
  person but hey I might have a party.
• My medical expenses are completely covered though
  work.
• All except dr.s co-pays that I will have as a
  15.00 cushion for.
• My dental expenses will also be provided through
  work.
• Rx. Are budgeted for as a cushion. 10.00 a month
  for now.
• Laundry will be 2.00 a load. So at least 30.00
  a month.
• Clothing and shoes are a must and I will allow
  myself to spend 70.00 a month.

Who says they're non essentials?

• 20.00 has been set aside for each month just
  incase a loved on has a birthday. (yes Im
  cheap!)
• I also get my internet through Net Zero. Only
  9.95/m.
• A hair cut is important Ill spend about 50.00
  at solutions studio and spa (Im family) though
  Its not needed every month its set aside.
• Entertainment is about 30.00 a month. I like to
  do things out doors that are free than I do like
  to go to the movies.

Miscellaneous

• Makeup is definitely needed! Believe me you dont
  want to see me in the AM. So Ill spend about
  40.00 on my war paint ?.
• Stuff to soup up my car is always fun. A Dave
  Matthews band sticker here, some red windshield
  wiper blades there its about 30.00.

My reflection on the Endeavor

• As an adult I realize that I cant spend money
  on trivialities. I really need to budget my money
  and make sure I stay out of debt. I have a lot of
  responsibilities, and people counting on me for
  not only money but in my job. People need to know
  that I am competent and that I am responsible. If
  I dont portray or rather be that type of person
  in the job I have I could easily lose it. Then
  where would I be? Back at home eating cheerios
  with my mom at the breakfast table? No, I dont
  think so.

My Reflection continued

• As a student when I was assigned this project I
  thought to myself wow how fun is this going to
  be! Here I was a senior in high school so ready
  to break free and my teachers were telling me
  just how to do it! I couldnt have been more
  thrilled about the whole thing. When I first
  started searching for a job it wasnt easy. I
  really dont know exactly what I want to do when
  I get older. But this project has put me in a
  direction that I feel could be good for me. Hey
  the pay isnt too bad either. Everything took a
  while for me to find and I was frustrated. But
  now I really think that I have accomplished
  something that I am proud of and that I now have
  an idea of what I could do for money and enjoy it
  as well I have a place to start at least. Also
  now I know what I have to save up in order to
  live on my own. Honestly I feel great, and Im
  thrilled that I am more informed.
