Vietnam Service Project 2007
2About the Project
The Vietnam service project aims to contribute to
the educational opportunities of intellectually
disabled children aged 3-18, who attend the Gia
Dinh Special School in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
Activities we will be conducting include training
children in the use of pictograms for
communication, which we will be developing to
specifically suit their needs, conducting
handicraft sessions, sports, and bringing them on
outings. As a number of these children come from
very poor families, we also welcome donations of
old clothes and toys that will be given to the
children, as well as picture books which will be
donated to the school library.
Volunteers are needed to be part of this exciting
project. Volunteers must be students or young
professionals aged from 17 to 29. However, as
there is a limited number of volunteers needed,
interested persons need to attend an interview.
All volunteers are encouraged to attend the
training sessions, so as to provide the best
possible service to these children.
