• Identify the anticipated changes to the NAHQ and

• Identify the steps required to achieve and
  maintain certification as an HQ professional

NAHQ - HQCB Relationship

• NAHQ sponsors the Healthcare Quality
  Certification Board (HQCB). NAHQ Members receive
  a discounted rate for the CPHQ examination. CPHQs
  receive a NAHQ membership discount.
• HQCB, as a separate board, oversees the
  certification program
• NAHQ and HQCB collaborate to identify and
  respond to competency assessment and professional
  development needs of quality professionals

Leadership Through Recertification

• Recertification cycles end on December 31. A
  grace period is allowed thru January 31.
• If certification lapses by the end of the grace
  period, the CPHQ certification is forfeited and
  the exam must be retaken.
• Reminders are sent out by the HQCB office,
  starting 6 months prior the expiration date, but
  it is still YOUR responsibility to renew your
  CPHQ certification by the end of the grace
  period.

• Recertification required every 2 years
• Requires 30 hours of continuing education
• Continuing education topics must relate to the
  exam outline
• Requires a recertification of 175.00
