Baton Rouge Magnet High School
  • Baton Rouge Magnet High is a school of academic
    excellence that offers a college preparatory
    curriculum, as well as a visual and performing
    arts program.
  • Our students are admitted from at least twelve
    public middle schools in the parish, several
    private schools, out-of-state schools, and home
    school environments.
  • As a result, these students come into a rigorous
    college preparatory magnet curriculum from a
    variety of academic situations.

BLUE RIBBON
  • Baton Rouge Magnet High has received the Blue
    Ribbon Award in the year 2003!
  • Its one of the five Louisiana schools to receive
    this national award.
  • This award is given to schools in which the
    students score in the top ten percent in the
    country on the math and reading sections of
    standardized .
  • Also the award is given to schools if forty
    percent of its students come from disadvantaged
    backgrounds and show academic improvement from
    the previous three years.

Visual and Performing Arts
  • Baton Rouge Magnet High School has been named
    Creative Ticket National School of Distinction by
    the Kennedy Center.
  • It is one of five schools named in the nation,
    but the only 9-12 high school.
  • Along with a 500 Award, 50 students will be
    traveling to Washington, D.C. in March to perform
    at the Kennedy Center.
