• Paul Bunyan was born in Maine.
• At the age of 9 months Paul built a giant cradle.
• His parents moved into the backwoods of Maine.
• Paul wrestled grizzlies and raced deer while
  living in the wilderness.

• Paul Bunyan was a lumberjack.
• He was an enormous man.
• He could do the work of ten men.

One snowy winter morning Paul found an ox calf.
The ox was blue. He named the ox Babe.

Paul and Babe crossed the United States lumbering
as they went. One day Babe needed some water so
Paul dug a water hole for the ox. That is how
Lake Michigan was formed.

The stories of Paul Bunyan and his big blue ox,
Babe, were made up to entertain the lumberjacks.
