    parameter space cause significant amounts of Z
    and higgs bosons to be produced via

  • Can these Z and higgs bosons be utilized well
    enough to be used in SUSY mass measurements?

PGS Z0 Finding
  • Can PGS find Z bosons effectively?
  • Using an Opposite-Sign Same-Flavor
    Opposite-Sign Opposite-Flavor technique, PGS
    finds the Z's remarkably well
  • Out of 368 events with Z's, 365 are found by PGS
    with this technique.

Nice Z peak!! Small Background!!

ZJet Effective Mass
  • From Monte Carlo event generation analysis, we
    expect the ZJet endpoint to be a nice observable.
  • However, it seems that too many jets from
    undesirable decay processes are in the way.
  • For example

ZJet with Jet matching
  • If we try to match the PGS Jets to the Generator
    level Jets to do a shape analysis...
  • Jets are matched using a Delta R cone.
  • gt50 of Jets are NOT matched. Out of 368 good
    events, 154 had matched jets.
  • Next goal for this analysis employ a better
    matching method.

PGS h0 Finding
  • Can PGS Find higgs bosons effectively?
  • Even using the best justified cuts on the b
    jets... Not really.
  • The cuts
  • two jets with PT gt 100 GeV
  • bb effective mass in the range 70 125 GeV
  • bb Delta R lt 0.1.

Not a very nice peak... Did we cut out too many b
jets?

hJet Effective Mass
  • In spite of not having resounding Higgs finding,
    here's the effective mass distribution...
