Hydropower Eligibility

• Approximately 80 Megawatts currently available
  for allocation
• Business must be located or planning to locate
  within a 30 miles radius of the Power Authoritys
  Niagara Power Project in the U.S.
• For Replacement Power - Available to businesses
  located in the National Grid franchise area
  within the 30 mile radius.
• For Expansion Power - Available to businesses
  located in the National Grid or NYSEG franchise
  area within the 30 mile radius.

Criteria For Eligibility

• Hydropower Application Process
• Each application is evaluated on a competitive
  basis and will be evaluated on, but not limited
  to the following factors
• The number of jobs created as a result of an
  allocation.
• The business long term commitment to the region
  as evidenced by the current and/or planned
  capital investment in business facilities in the
  region
• The ratio of the number of jobs created to the
  amount of power requested.
• The types of jobs created, as measured by wage
  and benefit levels, security and stability of
  employment.
• The type and cost of buildings, equipment and
  facilities to be constructed enlarged or
  installed.
• The extent to which an allocation of power
  allocation is consistent with state, regional and
  local economic development strategies.

Criteria For Eligibility

• Business expansion will create new electrical
  demand (kW).
• Business is planning to create jobs.
• Business proposed use of power will result in an
  economic benefit to the Niagara Frontier and New
  York State.
• Business must complete its proposed project in
  three (3) years. Ideally, proposed project
  should start construction within one (1) year of
  allocation approval.
• Business must be willing to commit in writing to
  create and maintain jobs and use the power for
  the proposed project.

  the New York Power Authority and National Grid.
• Expansion Power applications are available from
  the New York Power Authority.
