• Scottish Society of Tidewater
• March 20th, 2007

Philly Midwinter Celtic Festival

• The entire Brash clan, along with Erin Morrissey,
  descended on Valley Forge, PA, for three days of
  Celtic music, dance, song, shopping, food, and
  drink!
• Lynnette Fitch Brash was invited back for the
  fifth consecutive year to give Scottish Step
  Dancing and Scottish Ceilidh Dancing classes
• Musical acts included Dougie MacLean, Searson,
  Seven Nations, Greenwich Meantime, and many, many
  others.
• This is a FANTASTIC Festival, and I would like to
  organize a group event to go there next year

Recent Events

• Feb. 24th NNPPD and Dancers Ceilidh Fundraiser
  at the FOP in Newport News
• A good time was had by all, and there are plans
  in the works to make these a regular happening
  stay tuned!
• Mar. 4th - Caledonia, at the American Theatre in
  Hampton
• Great venue, and ALL Scottish, ALL the time!!!!!

• St. Patricks Day!!!!!!!!
• SST participated in the Parade in Ocean View
• SST Member, Steven Hood, as a shavee again this
  year for the St. Baldricks Foundation
• Check out the new pub in Waterside - Blackfinns
• SST Members get 10 discount!!!
• Police Emerald Society put on a great event at
  OSullivans

Recent News

• We now have a special status with the Scottish
  Lion Import Shop
• The SST will receive regular checks in the amount
  of 10 of all orders made by Society Members!!!!!
• Must mention our special code SS1002

Support the KILTED Troops

• Our good friend, MacKenzie Landry, is currently
  deployed, along with the rest of the 2nd
  Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment (2RCR),
  in Afghanistan.
• Many of you know the members of the 2RCR Pipe and
  Drums - they have participated in the Tattoo here
  for many years.
• We would like to send a care package to
  MacKenzies platoon, on behalf of the SST. If
  you would like to donate to this, please let me
  know.

• Richmond St. Patricks Day Parade and Celtic
  Festival
• Saturday, March 24th - Broad and 25th (Church
  Hill) in Richmond
• SST Members will be there, so please come up!

• Saturday, April 14th at Grand Affairs
• Poisoned Dwarf ceilidh dancing all night long!
• Outstanding buffet dinner!

• April 18th - Diana Gabaldon (author of the
  Outlander series - set in Scotland and American
  in the 1800s) will speak at the Central Library
  7-9pm, Registration is required!!!

Azalea Festival Parade of Nations

• It would be great to have a LARGE Scottish
  presence in the parade this year, with UK being
  the celebrated nation
• Good opportunity for high visibility Nessie will
  be there!

Virginia International Tattoo

• SST has purchased a block of tickets for the
  Saturday, April 21st evening show (730pm)
• Our first set of tickets are sold out!
• We will take your money tonight, if you are
  interested, and then order an additional set of
  tickets based on the number that PAY TONIGHT.

Boardwalk History Fest

• April 28th, 2007 on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk
• A community event for sharing history with others
  in the community
• SST will have a table there
