History of the DSA
  • Established with the purpose of providing a
    welcoming a supportive environment for
    matriculating students.

DSA Vision
  • The Division of Student Affairs envisions a
    Florida State University where students, faculty
    and staff embrace the learning community with

  • Provides recreational programs, services and
    facilities to students. The Leach Center is a
    state- of - the art recreation facility
    administered by this department. The Fitness
    program housed in the Leach Center offers a
    variety of classes and exercise equipment.

  • The Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement
    (CARE) is an academic support unit that assists
    undergraduate students who may be disadvantaged
    due to economic, educational or cultural
    circumstances. CARE provides programs and
    services targeted to the first-generation college
    student, and helps to facilitate their
    preparation, recruitment, adjustment, retention
    and graduation from college.

  • The Center for Civic Education and Service
    engages students and faculty in community-based
    learning through service. The Center serves as
    the campus hub for linking students to service

  • The Office of Multicultural Affairs facilitates
    the education of university members through

    the newest addition to the Division of Student
    Affairs. It was established in response to the
    Quality Enhancement Plan for SACS Accreditation.
    The purpose of the Center is to to coordinate
    leadership activities and help in the development
    and evaluation of student leadership activities.
