5Critical ThinkingNine Weeks
Study Skills Success !! Critical thinking
(frequently called Study Skills) will assist
students in developing skills which ensure
success in school. Critical Thinking is
designed to develop study skills, teach learning
and reading strategies, set goals, encourage
responsibility, and develop test- taking skills
(school- based and standardized) as part of the
class. The development of these skills will help
students learn more efficiently, thus making
school a more enjoyable and rewarding
experience.
6Physical EducationNine Weeks
Students will be introduced to fitness
principles designed to assist them in a
lifestyle of healthy living. Activities Muscle
Mondays/Plyometrics Paddleball Soccer Track and
Field Basketball Volleyball Tennis Softball Introd
uction to Cardiovascular Principles Fitness
Testing (Pre and Post tests for comparison
purposes) Various other sport activities
7 HealthNine Weeks
- Health students will have the opportunity to
study, practice and apply - health concepts they learn through a variety of
methods which include - cooperative learning activities, critical
thinking skills, as well as, - learning and reading strategies.

- Drug Education
- Family Living and Human Sexuality Unit
- Have fun learning about yourself !
8Conversational Spanish Nine Weeks
Do you know that There are only five vowels
sounds in Spanish? 18 countries in the world
speak Spanish? Activities- Learn your Spanish
ABCs. Learn about the Spanish culture. Make
pinatas. Enjoy Fiesta Day. Preparation for
Spanish I high school credit in the 7th or 8th
grade. Sign up for Conversational Spanish class!

12Beginning BandEighteen Weeks
- Learn to play and instrument and have fun too!!!
- This course exposes students to the basic
elements and techniques - of music performance using woodwind, brass, and
percussion - instruments at a beginning level.
- Students are expected to-
- practice 20-30 minutes at least four times per
week - attend all performances, maintain their
instrument, - maintain a folder portfolio
- attend field trips, and
- participate in fundraisers
- Parents are encouraged to participate in Music
Boosters which meet the fourth Tuesday of each
month at 700 p.m. Parents should also know that
playing an instrument does come with expenses.
A band store is operated here at the school .
