20KEY ASSESSMENT PROCESSES
- Accreditation approval to assess against
standards and qualifications on the NQF - Moderation-a process to ensure valid, fair and
consistent assessment - Evidence gathering over time (sufficiency)
- Naturally occurring evidence
21- Integrated approach to assessment (see earlier).
More need to use this approach. - Self peer assessment
- Using outside providers and/or assessors
- Using evidence gatherers
22- Teacher as assessor
- Authenticity. The work belongs to the student.
- Formative. A natural part of the practical work
this is occurs for the most part in the
feedback/feed-forward process - Summative
- Feedback
23EVIDENCE
- Photos and/or Video
- Journals
- Oral records
- Tests
- Essays/reports
- Seminars
- Observations
- Measurement

28- The level
- Schools need to be aware that the criteria for
the levels for the industry unit standards is
different than that for the curriculum derived
unit and achievement standards. - The assessment guidelines contain the level
descriptors. - Credit value
- This is a measure of the amount of work required
re T and L and assessment. 1 cr/10hrs
29- Accredited Providers.
- Those who have submitted their Quality
Management Systems/Processes to NZQA and to the
Sport Fitness Recreation Industry Training
Organisation (Sfrito) - Version.
- Changes can be made to a standard. Significant
changes result in a new version
30Further it will reveal
- The AMAP number.
- That is the assessment moderation action plan
which specifies the moderation requirements. - Either download or print. http//www.nzqa.govt.nz
/nqfdocs/maps/doc/0102.doc - The Standard Setting Body (SSB)
- One click on the SSB and this will take you to
their site. In this case Sfrito.

34Accreditation scope
- This reveals the fields, subfields, domains and
individual units the school has the approval to
assess against. - A bunch of these are automatically granted to all
schools. See the Base Scope Accreditation for
Schools (BSAS) - http//www.nzqa.govt.nz/ncea/acrp/secondary/docs/
bsas.pdf - The remainder are those the various ITOs have
approved for the specific school.
35- The BSAS is the scope granted to schools of right
once their application to NZQA has been approved - The domain ABL is in Kaiapois scope because
Sfrito has - assessed Kaiapois
- procedures against
- AMAP 102
36MNA Report
- This pdf document contains what the NZQA most
recently reported to the school about its
performance, after it considered the information
coming from the various subject national
moderators and the team that assessed the school
held, and publically available, documentation
entitled NQF assessment procedures.
