Earthquakes
Earthquakes are frequent in both China and
Japan. Some of the most disastrous earthquakes
were in the 1920s when over 90,000 people were
killed and injured. Mudslides are also a major
issue in China and Japan, destroying buildings
and trapping people inside them.

Religion
Buddhism first arrived in China in the late
1940s. China has temples, where you can worship
all over the country.
The main religion in Japan is Buddhism, which was
introduced in 539 AD. This statue is of Buddha,
it is supposed to represent peace and calmness.
