  • Must convince audience that you are worth
    listening to.

  • Who is my primary audience ?
  • If someone remembers only one thing from my talk,
    what would I like it to be ?
  • Use examples ? Abstract x Concrete
  • Don't get carried away with details

  • Make sure everyone can see what you are present
  •  Don't crowd too much information on the screen

  • Speak loud enough so everyone will hear
  • Make eye contact with your audience
  • Don't read information directly from
    slide/paper
  • Don't over-run (have extra-slides)
  • Conclusion
  • Provoke your audience to ask questions

  • May be at night (must request in advance)

  • Should reserve by November 22.
  • If an emergency, you may switch.
  • Time slots are each ½ hour and granted on first
    one to request
  • Can be from campus or off campus (on campus is
    recommended
