What do we use them for?

• We use them for many things, from images of land,
  right down to communication between people.
• The main way we use satellites is for our GPS
  units

What is a satellite?

• A satellite is any object purposely placed into
  orbit around the sun or any other heavenly bodies
• The purpose can be for spying, communication, or
  even locating a certain area not viewable from
  earth
• .

My description of Sputnik1

• Sputnik was the first artificial satellite sent
  into orbit
• Sputnik was used for many, many purposes
• The main purposes were studying the earths
  atmosphere, observing animal survival in
  space,and testing Soviet rocket technology

What I have learned

• I have learned many things about satellite, but
  the most amazing to me is that they can receive
  and transmit images and broadcasts
• The most important thing about satellites from my
  point of veiw is they are not cheap
