Advance Training Flight (ATF)
School for Flight Commanders, Flight Sergeants
and First Sergeants
Trains you to be able to command twenty Basic
Cadets at encampment.
Eight-day course for cadets who want additional
training before applying to be on cadet staff.
This course will treat you as if you are a Flight
Sergeant from the minute you walk on Post.

Program

Ground Search and Rescue School (GSAR)
A one-week total immersion program. Participants
will receive more than 40 hours of classroom,
practical, and field training.
Cadet 15 years of age, completion of achievement
2, and completion of encampment

Ground Search and Rescue School
Courses include land navigation, rescue,
tracking, and search techniques.
Two training missions will be conducted, leading
to the award of the CAP Ground Team Member
Standard rating. Successful candidates will
qualify as NASAR (National Association for Search
and Rescue) SAR Technicians, level II.

Cadet Survival Training School (CSTS)

  • Academically and physically demanding.

  • Prerequisite Age 15, Encampment, Swim 50
    meters, Pass CPFT, No medical condition,

Cadet Survival Training School

Cadet Orientation Flights (O-Rides)
The Cadet Flight Orientation Program is designed
to expose cadets to general aviation through a
series of flights. These flights may be in
powered or glider aircraft. Cadets are able to
fly as much as possible. Flights demonstrate
basic flight maneuvers, navigational, and
communications techniques as well as pre-flight
planning and post-flight debriefings.

Cadet Officer School
Patterned after the US Air Forces Squadron
Officer School, this academically challenging
course is for cadets 16 and older. COS is an in
depth study of the skills of leadership.
Instructors guide cadets through the Air Force
approach to psychology of leadership, problem
solving techniques, effective writing, effective
speaking, and group dynamics.
