    Celebrate, Act is the theme for this years MLK
    celebration sponsored by NWA _at_ 6 pm in MSP Mall
    of America. Vernice Armour, Americas first
    African American female combat pilot is the guest
    speaker. Shaakira Edison, Founder-President of
    BFAOA, Inc. is one of the recipients of the
    Multicultural Award. Music by Steele. Limited

  • Monday, January 19, 2009 BFAOA, Inc. will not
    participate in the Annual MLK March in ATL due to
    the Presidential Inauguration. ATL Chapter will
    participate in MLK Events at the SCLC in Downtown
    ATL.
  • Monday, February 2 - 6 2009 - The 28th Annual
    African American Aviation History and Career
    Awareness Week will be hosted by the Detroit
    Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen along with the
    Organization of Black Airline Pilots, Black
    Flight Attendants of America, Inc., National
    Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees,
    and the Detroit Public Schools. The venue is
    Wayne County Community College Eastside Campus.

  • Wednesday, February 25, 2009 - Black History in
    Aviation at Newark Liberty Airport, Terminal C2,
    from 2 to 5 pm. Hosted by NYC and EWR Chapters
    of Black Flight Attendants of America, Inc. Meet
    Patricia Edminton Banks, whose career began in
    the 1950s with Capitol Airlines, and Diane
    Hunter, the first Black Flight Attendant for
    Continental Airlines, and celebrate her
    retirement and 35 years of Black Flight
    Attendants of America, Inc. Serving the skies
    and the Community. Vintage Airline Fashions from
    all airlines and reception will follow.
  • Monday, May 25, 2009 7 to 11 am, the 24th Los
    Angeles Marathon. Join Black Flight Attendants
    of America, Inc. and community volunteers at the
    Mile 8 Water Station (Marlton and MLK Blvd.) to
    cheer on the athletes! 200 volunteers needed.
  • Wednesday, August 4 - 9, 2009 - Black Flight
    Attendants of America, Inc. 35th Annual
    Convention at the Buckhead Hotel Atlanta (soon to
    be Marriott Buckhead). Hosted by Organization of
    Black Airline Pilots Association.
  • Saturday, September 26, 2009 - Aviation Career
    Day and Air Show at the Compton Airport,
    sponsored by California Black Aviation
    Association.
