    worksheets

  • 3 types of grants
  • Teacher instructional equipment
  • eMints classroom
  • Content specific applications, technologies,
    software.

Teacher Instructional Equipment
  • Improve/enhance classroom instruction
  • Teaching focus
  • Projectors, speakers, classroom amplification,
    software, interactive white board, etc.

eMints Classroom
  • 12 student laptop model
  • Interactive use of technology by students
  • Prescribed list of equipment Smart boards,
    printers, laptops, projectors, audio
    amplification, digital cameras, web cams, software

Content Specific Applications
  • Technology and/or software specific to a content
    area or task.
  • Could include technology to support math,
    science, social studies, literacy, etc. Software
    such as Waterford, PLATO, Read 180, etc.

Evaluation
  • This is a highly scrutinized program by both USOE
    and the legislature.
  • We expect each teacher to work with Educational
    Services in collecting certain data, which could
    include attendance and tardy information, student
    and teacher surveys, student achievement data,
    etc.
  • Teachers will not have to do all of this on their
    own. ASD will support teachers in the collection
    of this data.

Professional Development
  • All teachers who are awarded grants are expected
    to participate in ASD sponsored professional
    development.

Teacher Instructional Equipment
  • Teachers who access this type of grant should
    expect to attend 4-6 professional development
    sessions focused on the use of the equipment and
    effective classroom strategies.

eMints
  • Teachers who go with the eMints model should
    expect intensive PD focused on student learning
    and engagement.
  • Two-year commitment 100 hours the first year,
    75 hours the second
  • Teachers will be paid at the teacher hourly rate
    for time spent in PD activities.

Content Specific Applications
  • Teachers will work with the district Technology
    Department in facilitating training on the use of
    the selected equipment/software.

Equipment List
  • Any Category 1 and 2 grant application must
    choose equipment off of the published equipment
    list.
  • Category 3 grants will select and purchase
    equipment and software in cooperation with the
    Technology and Purchasing Departments.
